How to remove sweat stains from your pillows

Sweat stains on pillows are among the worst summer unpleasantness, when high temperatures stimulate sweat production at night. When we sweat and we make contact with pillows, unsightly stains and odors occur.

Fortunately, there is an effective and inexpensive way to remove sweat stains on pillows using products you already have on hand. Before acting so, be sure to read the cleaning instructions on the cushion label. Washing machines can damage some pillows filled with foam or latex, for example!


–Lay the pillow on a flat surface with sweat stains placed upward. Fill a medium bowl with equal parts of water and hydrogen peroxide, stirring the solution with a spatula.

Other natural products you can dissolve in water for the same purpose:
– aspirin
– lemon juice
– baking soda
– salt

–Dip a clean sponge in the mixture and squeeze out the excess liquid. Dab the sweat stain with this special solution until all traces are covered. Leave the mixture act for 30 minutes.

–If the pillow is washable, wash it in the washing machine with just a quarter cup of detergent. If the pillow can’t be cleaned in this way, rinse the stain with diluted hydrogen peroxide using a damp cloth, then dry it using a towel placed over the stain.

–If the pillow smells really bad because the impregnated sweat, add a cup of vinegar in the washing machine. This simple and natural remedy prevents unpleasant smell and also prevents its reappearance after using the pillow.
